NASHVILLE — Australian alt-pop trio Chase Atlantic set Marathon Music Works ablaze on Aug. 4, 2022, headlining a sold-out show as part of their Cold Nights North American tour. Following the success of their 2021 album Beauty in Death—and its deluxe edition release in May 2022—the band hit the road to capitalize on their growing momentum, delivering an unforgettable night of high-energy performances and electric crowd engagement.
Joining the trio for the evening were friend and frequent collaborator Xavier Mayne and rising TikTok sensation Leah Kate, each bringing their own distinct sound to the mix.
A Strong Start: Xavier Mayne and Leah Kate Open the Night
Kicking off the night was Xavier Mayne, a fellow Australian artist with multiple collaborations alongside Chase Atlantic. His set, featuring tracks from his TWENTY ONE EP—including “Automatic,” “Reaction,” and “Peaches and Palm Trees”—set the perfect vibe for the night, seamlessly blending with the headliners’ signature sound.
Next up was Leah Kate, whose viral hits “Twinkle Twinkle” and “10 Things I Hate About You” have taken social media by storm. Though her pop-heavy style contrasted with Chase Atlantic’s darker, alternative-tinged R&B, her energetic performance and fan interaction made her a standout. Kate had the most hands-on approach of the night, frequently reaching out to fans, forming hearts with them, and fostering a connection that made her set an unexpected yet delightful highlight.
Chase Atlantic Takes Over: A High-Energy Headlining Set
From the moment Mitchel and Clinton Cave and Christian Anthony hit the stage, the energy inside Marathon Music Works was palpable. The room transformed into a full-blown party as the band launched into a setlist packed with fan-favorite anthems. The crowd screamed along to every lyric, jumping in sync with the pulsating beats, leaving all worries at the door for a night of pure euphoria.
The setlist pulled from across their discography, featuring “Into It” from their 2017 self-titled album, “TOO LATE” from Phases (2019), and “Out the Roof” from Beauty in Death (2021). Each song was a carefully chosen piece of their sonic evolution, giving longtime fans and newcomers alike a taste of Chase Atlantic’s signature genre-blending sound—where dark alternative, R&B, and rock collide.
From Indie Upstarts to Global Sensations
Chase Atlantic’s journey from their early Dalliance (2014) EP to global recognition is a testament to their relentless artistry. With their tracks dominating social media platforms like TikTok and amassing over 200 million streams across various platforms, the trio has carved out a unique space in the modern alt-music scene.
The Cold Nights tour stop in Nashville wasn’t just another show—it was a communal experience. Fans left with more than just memories of an electrifying performance; they left with new friendships forged in line, shared excitement, and the mutual love of a band that has built its career on genuine connection.
With every beat drop and every lyric shouted back at full volume, Chase Atlantic once again proved why they are one of the most dynamic acts in alternative music today.
